Allen Family Reunion come and gone....

This is a much needed break for everyone. The adults just get to relax a litttle and catch up on eachothers lives a little more and the kids just run around and play in the woods and the forts. The GROWN UP boys get a kick out of shooting eachother with paint and then bragging about not getting hit by anyone. (My BOY is the biggest bragger)

My kids were being so brave with all their cousins. Usually Davin hangs with Mom,(the safe spot) but he was playing the whole time with all the kids. Then he hurt his foot and was out for the count. Madison loves hanging out with all her girl cousins. I know she looks up to them. Mr. Blane thinks he is already 5 years old. He was playing the whole time and being Mr. bossy. All of the older cousins get a kick out of him. He is such a silly boy. Grandma Sharon was yelling, "Gannon, come get your jacket on" and Blane started to copy her... it was so funny!!

One of the best parts of the trip comes when the kids crash for the night and the adults play a game together. We played Balderdash where you have to make up things and get people to vote for your answer. This was so funny! Here is an example of one.... The person's name was Samuel Bissett. Now we had to say what this guy was famous for. I totally thought "oh... the Bissel Vac"
I wrote it down totally thinking it was gonna win and found out that 3 other people put the same thing down. We were all dying laughing. My stomach hurt so much that night(I am 35 weeks prego too).

This was a fun trip!!!

What a day to remember....9/11

It's crazy how things are engraved into our memories. This is the anniversary of the attacks on the USA. I can remember back 8 years ago when this tragedy occured. Dason woke me up in the morning to tell me that a plane had crashed into the towers. I simply thought that an airplane had accidentally hit or clipped the building. I kissed Dason goodbye and fell back asleep. I was pregnant at the time with our first child a girl to be born in December. I did my usual routine after that, woke up and went to the table for a bowl of cereal and turned on Channel 3 morning news and was shocked to see two buildings burning. What a sad and horrific day this was. I love the country in which I live. I feel so blessed to have been born into such a place with so many wonderful opportunites and freedoms. I want my kids to know how patriotic I am. I LOVE This country and the passion for it flows through my veins and makes me feel alive. I am thankful for all the men and women whom have the courage and desire to fight for this great land in which we live.

This is also the anniversary of the death of Dason's Dad. Our Papa Dan and my "Pops". What a day to pick! Pops wanted to make sure that everyone remembered him more than just once or twice a year! I just want to say in tribute to him how much I loved what he did for his family. He dedicated his life to his family, always trying to give them better than he had. He was someone who thought of others before himself. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He also instilled this admiral quality in his children. He was full of life to the extreme and was not afraid to express himself. He was a rebel by nature, but was spiritual and believed in the gospel. Thanks to the help of his wife, who no doubt encouraged his spirituality. He was loud and crazy! Everytime Dason is doing something crazy, I let our kids know just where his craziness came from! I love him for giving me his wonderful son to spend the rest of my life with and beyond. What a wonderful husband I have ......... What a wonderful Father my kids have!!

Let's play catch up...

I haven't been keeping track of things very well. I'll try to remember all that has happened in the past couple of months. Let's start with my only daughter...

Madison... Well she has graduated from Kindergarten. Congratulations Mats!! What a fun 1st year of school. She ended great! She won the spelling bee contest in her class, she made a lot of new friends and went to some fun birthday parties this year. She has been real eager to learn and has picked up reading and spelling good. She suceeded in math too. Her best friend Jill moved to Colorado on the last day of school. She was sad, but she will stay in touch with her. Madison is excited for 1st grade and eating lunch in the school cafeteria. I am sad and happy that my baby is growing up. I had fun being able to help out in Madison's class a bunch this year. Madison started swim lessons with Ms. Traci again. She is such a great teacher. Madison is swimming so well and trying so hard. She loves going off the diving board and is enjoying to swim more.

Davin.... finished his first year of preschool! Congrats bud. He did so well making new friends and learning to seperate from his Mom.

A week gone by already!

So much has happened in a week! On Tuesday Davin learned how to ride a bike without training wheels! He picked it up in like an hour. He is so funny! He will keep trying until he gets it. Madison went to Jill Ross' house to play afterschool and when she came home she was so surprised that Davin was riding a bike with no training wheels. Madison could have been riding without training wheels, but she didn't like trying and practicing. This did it for her, she wanted to be able to ride too, so she got her bike out and began practicing. The work is'nt fun for her. She gets frustrated easily and wants to stop, but we kept her practicing and she got the hang of it in a matter of 20 minutes. We can go on Family bike rides and the kids ride so well. It is so fun!

Then comes the rest of the week... I had been feeling nauseos for the past couple of days so I decided to take a test. Turns out we are expecting Baby #4. YAY!!! We were watching Beckham for Jenny and Cody's Anniversary when we found out. He is barely 5 months and he had a tough night. We got a little bit of a pit in our stomachs thinking of what was to come!! We are excited though. We could'nt imagine not having one of our kids in our family that we have. It will be such a blessing. The kids are really excited. Madison wants a sister and Davin wants a brother. I will be happy with whatever.. a girl will be fun since I have tons of baby girl clothes. We will see!

Monday... Family Home Evening

We had a great family home evening! We took a bike ride to the park. Mom, Dad and Madison rode our bikes and Davin and blane drove the jeep there. We went down the grassy hill on our bikes and miss Madison did'nt like that because her bike was soooo hard to ride on the grass. So she pushed her bike and that was even harder.. She made sure I knew how mad she was and that she was NEVER going to do that again!. POOR GIRL!! I had shorts and a short sleeve shirt on with some flip flops... loving the warmer weather. Blane chased Davin around the playground, it was so cute. Madison are getting so big and agile. They both love climbing. Davin is a good little crazy driver of his jeep. He cracks me up. Blane just looks at him and laughs! We went home and Dason gave the lesson on being thankful for the gifts that heavenly father has given us. The kids already know so much, it is awesome to see. Blane got a little bored so he decided to pull his brother and sisters hair. I guess he just wanted to bring some excitement into the room! For our treat we were going to have some mother cookies, until the doorbell rang during family home evening and the girlscout cookies we ordered were here. Even better!! Thanks for a good time together family!!!

Happy Birthday Dason (dad)

Today is February 24, 2008 and Dason has turned 29 years old! We both still feel like kids! It is amazing how the years breeze right by. We had church today at 11:00, Blane stayed in nursery for the first time today, yah!! We came home and I made some ritz cracker chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner(one of Dason's favorite meals). The kids and I made "daddy" a cake. They had fun decorating it and of course licking the batter and icing.
The kids got into the shower after eating cake and Blane went poo poo in the shower. This is a first for any of my kids!

To my husband of 7 years: Thank you for all you do for me and our family. Thank you for always trying to be a gentle and a loving father. Thank you for your humor, even when it annoys us! Thank you for your love and support of me as a wife and a mother . I LOVE YOU!

Keeping a journal

I decided to start journaling online so that I can have many memories of our young kids. I want Madison , Davin and Blane to know how much their mom loves them and the funny, crazy, annoying, amazing, loving things about them and our days together as a family.

It is amazing how time flys! Madison is 6 years old and is in Kindergarten for half a day. She is so big! She is coming out of her shell. She is learning to read and is a good speller. Madison has spelling tests every Friday and when I ask her how it was she always says "Mom, it was sooo easy!". I always liked spelling too! She has lots of friends at school, but her best friend is Jill Ross. They have known each other since they were 1 years old in our old neighborhood. We are buddies and love cuddling at night on the couch. She is a picky eater like her dad! She likes pizza without the sause and cheese; funny girl! She likes playing barbies, polly pockets and babies. What an amazing girl she is!

Davin is 3 years old already! He is my little sweetheart! He is sooooo affectionate! He loves hugs and kisses, I hope that never changes. He has had a big year with some changes. He had a tube pushed through his nose to his throat to check his voice box. He has such a cute raspy hoarse voice, but the doctor wanted it checked for palyps. He has a voice nodule. Next on the list is.... a procedure to make the hole where his pee comes out bigger. He did amazing! Dason tried taking him first and he didn't do too well. He was kicking and screaming! What a brave boy! Next in line... he started preschool! I put him in preschool to help with his speech . It was a sad thing for me to do. He is kinda my baby! It took him a couple of days until he did'nt cry when I left him. His teacher Miss Jenni told me " I looove him, he is so sweet" I just smiled and said " I know". He like super heroes, cars and playing with his sister. He gets so sad if Madison does'nt tell him she loves him before she goes to school in the morning. He still comes in our bed at night. It is so funny because he bolts to our bed as fast as he can jumps in the middle, gets under the covers and falls asleep. He is such a sweet boy!

Then there is Mr. Blane ! He is 2o months old and quite the firecracker. He has tons of personality and is not afraid to show it! He is starting to talk and pronounce more words. He calls Penny PB. He calls his blanjets BB. He can say PEE PEE and POO POO. He can say WAWA(water). He can say JUUSH(juice). He can say BYE BYE and HI. He can say MAMA and DADA. He is such a silly, loving baby. He loves to give big hugs and kisses. Sometimes he loves so hard that he has to get his teeth into you to show the love. He gets so excited and sometimes mad that he tries to bite whatever he can. When he bites his whole body shakes! What a goof. He too loves his sister and his brother. Davin and Blane have such a sweet connection. One of my favorite things about them is that when we drive in the car they hold hands with each other! I love that! Blane is a loud talker and a screamer! He cracks me up. The other night after Blane went to bed, Dason and I were taking Madison and Davin to bed. Davin and Blane share a room and Blane had taken his pants off and his diaper then fell asleep in his bed with the pillow over his head! It was so funny, the kids were laughing at him!

What blessings they are in my lives. I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father for giving me such sweet spirits.
