i can'T believe he talked me into it....

The story behind this goes as follows: My wonderful husband decides that he wants a snake, so he tells me that he went into the reptile store and that the snakes were so cool. Then he says that he is going to buy one. Of course i say NO WAY, but did he listen???? After his wonderful purchase, he calls me to tell me how "rad" it is and that the kids are going to love it. I am picturing the snake to be like a cute(not really) little green garden snake, but oh no not quite. It was a dang Python.... are you kidding me???

Madison held it once, but didn't really like it. Davin couldn't get ENOUGH of it. He wanted to hold it all the time. He was never allowed to get it out of it's cage when his dad wasn't home, uh, uh, no way. Blane kinda liked it, but didn't want to hold it. Dason LoVed to scare me and Janelle with it. He would walk up to us with the snake in his hand , unbeknownst to us and say " oh, check this out". What a braT! I am sure he just got a huge kick out of chasing us around the house with it. That is why we will NEVER EVER have a snake as a pet again. The first time we fed the snake a live mouse was tramatizing for most of us. We fed him in the bath tub and we were all standing around watching and the snake grab him lighting fast and started to squeeze it. I ran out of the room and Blane started to cry. The older two were kind of in silent shock. Dason was in heaven, he LoVed every minute of it.

Here is another HUGE reason why we will never have a snake again. What's the worst thing that could happen??? Yeah, it did. The snake got out of it's cage and was loose in the house. We searched the entire house for the whole day and could not find it. This felt like a dream. We ended up finding it two weeks later. Davin was looking under the couch with his new flash light and he said, "Mom, I found the snake!!!" I thought he was kidding at first, but he was serious. Luckily, Dason had just left the house, so I was able to call him to come home and get it. It was still alive too!!

We are not sure what happened, but it kicked the bucket. Needless to say, I did not shed to many tears.

R.I.P our dear snake.

bYe, Bye bad tonsils and adenoids

Davin got his Tonsils out on July 10, 2009. He had Strep throat 6 times in an 8 month period, poor BaBe! He liked wearing the hospital gown that they gave him.

The coolest part was when the Anaesthesiologist came out to go over things with us. He told Davin that he would be blowing up a balloon and he showed him how with a skinny balloon. He turned the balloon into a dog and asked Davin "What do you use to take your dog for a walk?" He quickly blew up another balloon and made a leash. He told davin to put the leash on the dog and to take him for a walk. This was the way he got Davin back to the operating room. Good thing I had given him a big hug and kiss before he left.

Poor guy, woke up in pain and nauseated. He was so Moody for 2 weeks as thing started to heal. Now he feels great and is getting ready to start kindergarten!

CamPing & 4th of July

Jake was so nice... he helped set up evryone's tents in the COOL weather.

The kids rode around in this cUte wagon a ton! They had fun pulling eachother in it.

Dason took Davin, Blane & Madison for a ride on the bike.

The kids wanted to play in the water on the last day when it got hot enough.

Davin LoVes bugs...YuCk!! He picks them up and makes them a home. Madison helped with their home, but was not about to touch them. Blane wasn't too fond of touching these beattle looking bugs either.

We went to the activities in the park.

We visited the Snowflake Temple.

We lined up on the Main street in Heber to watch the fireworks.

PerFect Chilly weather to sit and watch the lights in the sky. All of the kids loVed the show including Vance. He got so excited watching the fireworks.

SuMMerR Vacation 09'

This was so fun! The kids and I started to build little pools in the sand. Then The Lucente's started to build one too. We kept compeating to see whose would get the biggest...Allen's VS Lucente's. Then we came together in forces and built a huge wall and pool. The kids LoVed this.

We decided to try a new area of California to stay. We have stayed at Mission Beach, La Jolla, Newport and Now it was time to try out the cute Beachy town of Encinitas. We had such an amazing place to stay. Right above the Bluff with the back patio over looking the ocean. It had an spectacular view. Not to mention the inside, which fit all the Derf's and One Lucente Family. This house was a 7 bedroom and 5 bathroom totally decked out house. What a deal!

We had such a fun time. We never really wanted to leave our house, so we did lots of grilling and cooking in. We had fun staying up late playing the Wii. We went to Knott's Berry Farm again. It is such a fun, inexpensive place for the Whole Family. All of our kids liked going on the rides. No fears yet, so hopefully that stay the same. We also went to the Aquariam again this year too. We all had a good time at the beach. Davin was TOO adventurous, he kept on going out really far in the ocean. He rode the waves in on his boogie board. The first thing he would do when we got to the beach was run for the water. Madison also played in the water and the sand. Blane wasn't to fond of the water. He would go in with Us, but that was it. He loved the sand. Vance actually really liked the Water too. He splashed a little on the shoreline.

Blane and Tate were trouble makers! They kept on getting into things they weren't supposed to. The two of them together = trouble!

8 months and counting....

Before I forget, I need to jot down all the things that our sweet little man is up to these days.

PooR guy has 7 TEETH popped through ..... aLreadY!!

He has been sitting on his own since he was almost 6 months old.

He is sOOOOOOO serious aLL the time. He doesn't give away smiles or laughs very easily. He makes us work for them.

He is a skinny MinnY!! He does nOT like to eat baby food. The 1st of any of my kids to be picky.

He sort of "SCOOTS" when is is on his tummy... backwards! That is, when he is not crying. He gets mad when we put him on his belly.

He LoVes his bath and nearly leaps out of my arms to get into the bath. He likes splashing and playing in the bath.

He loves his Mommy (and she loves him). He always reaches for me. When I put him to bed at night and for naptime, he reaches for my face and pulls me close to his face. I love this time with him!

He is such a chill baby. He goes with the flow. He sleeps pretty good through the night( he still wakes up 1-3 times). He loves to be held. He makes a cute high pitched squel, otherwise he is not very vocal. We think he can wave at us. He likes to hold his hand when we hold him, it is so cute.

Summer is off to a FAST & Busy start

We have been really busy these past few weeks.



*First, we had Jenny(My Sis) and her boys stay a couple of days while her husband was out of town. Jenny had actually thrown out her back so she needed help with her kids. It was fun and we sure kept busy chasing after lots of little ones.


*Second, Swim lessons began for all three kids with Ms. Traci. She is so aWesome! Madison & Davin were in the same class and they were doing things like treading water for 1 minute, Back stroke, butterfly stroke, practice using big arms(freestyle), practicing breathing to the side and diving to the deep end. They did so good! Tate was in the same class as Blane. They were learning, kicking, big arms, back floating, going down to the deep end with Ms. Traci. Ms. Tatum(Traci's daughter) helped this year. She shows off for the kids by doing her triple flip dives. We love them. She is SUCH a great teacher.






Third, The Ross girls came to visit from Colorado and stayed with us for 4 nights. I love those girls. We made flower hair clips one night...just the girls. Each girl made like 6 of their own. We did lots of swimming @ The Lund's One night for a Barbeque @ their aWesome pool. Then we went to the Basha Pool to play for a couple of hours. One night we put up the tent out back and had HOBO dinners (foil dinners) and turned on the fire pit( in 95 degree weather) and roasted marshmellows and made s'mores. The girls slept the night in the tent and stayed up late playing cards and having fun. Madison and Jill are the of best friends. They play so good together. Jane was such a helper while she was here. She loved holding and playing with Vance too. We enJoyed having them in our home. They are such good girls. We will miss them.






Fourth, Madison got her ears pierced. She finally decided while we were at the mall to take the plunge! She was so brave and only cried for a second. She loves having earrings.






Fifth, Our rambuncious boy Blane turned three! We had one Family party @ Grandma Sharon's & another family party @ our house for Blane. He is so funny! All he REALLY cared about @ both parties was the soda. When people would ask him what he wanted for his birthday he would say this...."Red Kid soda" We love him.







Sixth, on the list ....... We were asked to speak in church on Sun. June 14th(today). Our topic was about "coming unto Christ". This was such a great theme to talk about and I sure learned a lot while preparing my talk. Funny, weird thing that happened while I was 5 minutes into my talk.... the fire alarm went off and the WHOLE church had to be evacuated. I was actually tearing up on the stand as I was reading aloud the first verse to one of my favorite church songs. "I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me, confused at the grace that so fully he profers me. I tremble to know that for me he was crucified, that for me a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died." Know one knew what to do next. The fire dept came to make sure everything was okay and to shut off the alarm. Turns out that sacrament meeting was almost over and I had to get back up there and finish as quickly as possible. Dason spoke after me and gave an heart felt talk about his own journey to change. This was pretty funny.




Finally....we will be getting ready for our week long vacation to Encinitas @ the end of the week. We can't wait!
