Davin's biRthDaY = WinD

Seriously!! For the past THREE years we have had crazY wind on Davin's birthday! He ALWAYS wants to have it outdoors too. It always works out, so I guess thats all that really matters.

My FiRsT BoY is 5

I have to wish my sweet davin a very happY BirthDay. I LoVe him so much. He is such a helper. He really tries hard to do what is right. He is so close to the spirit and understands so much about this great plan of salvation. I love how he trusts me so much and asks me any and every question he has. I can't believe how much I love him!

Here are some of your accomplishments this past year:

*You are such an athletic boy. You like doing push ups and you have great form when you do them.

*You ride a bike and a scooter super fast.

*You learned to write and spell your name.

*You learned ALL of your ABC's

*You love doing flips and standing on your head.

We are so happy to have you in our lives, our sweet boy.

TrUe meaning of the holiday

We had the opportunity to go to the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Temple. What a special blessing this is. Our kids LoVed watching the performance. It is so touching to see how focused my kids were as the were seeing the story unfold. At theend when Jesus is resurected, Blane could not contain himself and he started clapping. I am so thankful for the knowledge I have about our life here on earth and more importantly of the life to come. I feel so happy to know that Jesus LOVES me and wants me to live worthy to return to live with him. I am thankful for the love my kids already have for their Savior.

EaSter ceLebraTions

We celebrated Easter with the Allen side on Saturday for lots of FuN! All 20 kids decorated eggs and then the older kids hid the eggs in Grandma Sharon's yard for the hunt. The best part came at the end when The ADULT BOYS conviced some of the kids to drink a RAW egg! Ammon drank it first(no surprise), Jonas tried and tried, but just couldn't talk himself into it(smart kid), Joshua never gave up and finally choked it down(what determination), Lizzie wanted so badly to be cool like her bros, but couldn't manage( tough girl), & surprisingly Davin wanted a taste, but never intended to get that yellow thing in his mouth (funny kid).

We did the whole Easter family gathering on Sunday with the Derfus Family, Excluding my Brother who is stationed over in Iraq and Sara who lives in Cali. We missed them! We ate a little KFC, shot off some airplanes(one that Cody let off hit my Mom in the back of the head and I have evidence of it on my camera), hid some eggs, found some, and enJoyed eachothers company.

30 off without a hitch.........or not???

I can't believe I am 30 years old!! I toTally still feel like a kiD! I know I still look like a kid too, most people can not believe that I have 4 kids. I LoVe to see the shock on their face and to see the wheels turning trying to figure out how old I was when I had my first. PriCeleSS!

My hubby and all the kiddies including Vance, made me breaKfast and brought it to me in bed. I reallY like to sleep in the morning and my birthday happened to fall on a Sunday...perfect for me. They were so excited to surprise me. The best BirthDay YeT!! I reallY do have a ThoughtfuL HubbY. They hurried me through my eating to go down stairs and open my little presents they got me and the beautiful homemade cards that they made me. I remember when I was young and I would ask my Mom what she wanted for her Birthday and she would say that she wanted a nice homemade card and a clean house. I never thought that was enough, but I now know it to be true. All I waNt from my kiDDies is the same.

So we had church since it was Sunday. We teach the 7/8 year olds so we try not to miss. Dason planned the Lesson and I helped teach it once we were at church. After class, we were waiting in the hallway to go into sharing time. Our class was standing up against the wall and I had my back to the class When aLL of a sudden I am KNOCKED down to the floor with VanceY in my arms and ALL!! I hit the ground and had to let go of Vance to grab my fall. Poor Vance hit the floor as gently as I could release him and started shrieking. Dason was standing across from me and did not see what had happened and rushed to pick Vance up off the floor. Once i regained my composure, I turned around to my class to try to figure out what had happened. The hallway was pretty full so I had lots of people who had seen exactly what did happen. I guess a couple of the boys in my class were pushing eachother and goofing off. One got pushed too hard and fell head first into the back of my knee wwhich just completely buckled my knee. Lots of people di not see what happened and just wondered if I just dropped my baby. HoW emBarrassing!! Vance was not calming down so I decided to take him into the mothers room to feed him. As I was walking down the hall, EverYone kept stopping me to ask if I was okay and If Vance was too. I didn't think I felt like I would start crying, but I did. All of my friends were coming into the room to ask me how I was doing and to wish me a happy birThday and I would just start crying. I GUESS I can be thankful for all the ExTra attenTion I recieved on my BiG 30th BirthdaY!

Turns out I sprained my foot pretty bad. I couldn't walk on it the next day. Luckily, we have two podiatrist in our ward. One is our home teacher and the other Dason home teaches his family. I have to say...I have a great supportive husband who really helped out when I was slightly out of commission; a great neighbor; Davin's friends Mom; my sisters. Thanks to all the well wishes from so many. My foot is healing nicely, I can't wait until I can get back to running once again.

another one bites the dust & A funny ?

Yep another lost tooth for miss mats. So far, 5 teeth have bit the dust. Madison knocked this one out all by herself..... on accident of course!! No one is ALLOWED to touch her loose teeth. She was playing and bumped her lip on something and out popped her tooth and fell into her hand. She came to tell us with a mouth full of blood trying to talk but couldn't. She was so happy that it finally came out. It had been loose for weeks and every night her Dad would pester her about pulling it. I would be extremely happy too!

Davin asks me this question(i hope it doesn't offend anyone), "Why do some people have BiG bottoms?" I was caught off guard and wanted to laugh out loud! He was dead serious and wanted to understand. I had to use the opportunity for a little compliment I hoped and i asked, "Does Mommy have a BiG bottom???" He gave me the answer I wanted. Funny guy. I LoVe his curiosity.

Here's a liTTle story about.....

A Little lady who happens to be a Mommy and who was caught breaking the law....

I was driving over the speed limit, of course, when I spotted one of those cars with liGhts on the roof top hidden down a street that i was just about to pass. I quickly pushed on the brake, but knew immediately that I was caught.... BUSTED! He inched forward and then pulled behind me.

As I passed him, I said to the chitlins " the policeman is going to pull me over". Davin asked, "why???". I responded with the truth, " Mom was speeding". WHy were you speeding??", he questions.

Davin is my child that asks a lot of questions because of his curiosity. We have had many conversations in the car when we see policeman in our neighborhood monitoring speed. I have explained to him about the laws about speeding and that we get a ticket if we disobey. He was shocked that his Mom would disobey. ShaMe on Me..

Anyways, He pulled me over and asked for my DL and info and I obliged. Silly Blane has unbuckled the top of his car seat buckle(which he does often as we are driving) and leans forward and says "Hi, heheheh" to the officer. I glance back at him and notice his belt unbuckled. So I decided to ask the policeman to tell Blane that he needs to stay buckeled while we are driving in the car. So he politely tells Blane to stay buckled in the car. Blane eagerly said, "okay" and began buckeling back up again. He totally did not hesitate! WoW, I think to myself........THaT was FuN!

the officer looks over my stuff and tells me that I was going 61 in a 45.... OOOOPS. I didn't try to argue with it because i knew I was going fast, whatever I thought. He then said what was music to my ears, "I am not going to give you a ticket today, just slow down". He made my day! I then told him how much my kids LoVe Policemen and he gave me little badge stickers for the three big kids.

This was such a neat experience for All of Us.
